Couples Love Challenge ~ Thoughts After Week 2

So far I have participated in the "Couples Love Challenge" for two full weeks now. I've done my best at completing the challenges and the bonus tasks. I was totally thrilled to find the time and motivation to paint my nails. It had been months since I'd taken the time to paint even my toe nails and that just isn't like me.

I am really rather new to the world of blogging both writing my own and reading others. However, about a year I began coming across blog after blog that encouraged me in ways that mother and church groups have never before challenged and motivated me. These women encourage me to cultivate and model traditional values and morals including dressing modestly, homeschooling to train my children to honor the Lord, practicing frugality, being a submissive and respectful wife, and being a homemaker who serves with a joyful heart. One blog I found to be exceptionally encouraging is The Time Warp Wife Ministry.

Good morning! Its sunny here today but COLD! The kind of cold where I stay inside all day and pretend I live in southern Florida sip hot chocolate. The picture is from my kitchen window this morning. I really enjoy having the little window cling hearts and love decorations around my home. Decorating for holidays, seasons, and 'just because' brings me joy within my home!

February is the "American Heart Month" and its no surprise because heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women according to the CDC.

Valentine's Day Plans

Valentine's Day. Love it or hate it, its coming up in nine days. As for me, I enjoy it. We don't go all out. Afterall, we try to do things as a couple on a weekly basis. Sure, we have three kids and they usually aren't in bed until 8pm, but we can sit and chat, read a book together, or whatever else we may wish to do after 8pm. But, making February 14th our date night for that particular week really doesn't hurt and so that is our way of celebrating. Just doing something fun together. Its not fake or superficial because we know everyday we attempt to say "I love you" several times and we will continue to have weekly date nights (even if at home during this season of life). But, this year I really wanna shake things up a bit! I want it to be special!

Couples Love Challenge

So maybe you noticed this daily challenge idea sort of fizzled on day two. It certainly isn't because of a lack of interest in the challenge! I was out of the house yesterday from 7am until 8pm with the exception of about 15 minutes in the middle where I came home from work and helped Casey get the kids ready to leave for an appointment and errands. When I finally did get home, I really wanted to jump right in and do the challenge and write about it but I had pressing house chores to do and I didn't really want to rush the challenge anyway.
