What Does Homemaking Look Like in My Home?

Today we're going to play a game! I'm excited! Another blogger wrote a blog post titled "What kind of homemaker are you?" where she shared how she is coming to terms with how she isn't the "perfect homemaker." She is also hosting a link up for other bloggers to share more on what they do as homemakers! This sounds like fun!

What Does It Mean To Love?

I want to begin a new focus for Monday with the topic of marriage titled "Marriage Moments." This can will be a fun topic with tips, date night ideas, Biblical truths and lessons, and general discussion of how to improve or simply enjoy our marriages.

In the Wilderness

If you are like me, you have had some good times and some hard times in your life. Its easy to praise God when we feel He is blessing us. What about during those difficult times?

Weekly Menu

Making my menu and grocery list is sometimes more fun than chore. I enjoy looking for new recipes and reading the ads. However, its easy to overlook the growing stockpile of ingredients already on hand. This week I want to dig into and empty out my freezer and pantry some.

Fight Fat...with Fat?

Ever try to lose weight and get on the internet for a diet plan or advice? If so, you probably found the many articles that say something similar to "eat low fat and lots of veggies and you'll lose the pounds quick." If you're like me, you probably have a sinking feeling like perhaps you're more fond of those extra pounds than you previously thought. Maybe you even wondered why God made so many varieties of food only for them to make you fat! Oh, and lots of veggies are awesome in your diet. Its the "low fat" that we're going to delve into today!

I AM THE CLAY

How would you like to have someone bring you a message from God? It would be pretty awesome right? Well, I'm sure a stern warning isn't what you had in mind. That is exactly what Israel got from Jeremiah. A very direct and strong warning from God that if they didn't shape up, He would do what was necessary to change their attitudes and behaviors. He'd done it before. So we know He means it! We can learn a lot from this warning to Israel.

Weekly Menu

Today is one of those blustery January days I wish to soon see behind us. I am long past "dreaming of a white Christmas" and I have visions of spring, new green plant life, flowers, and short sleeves dancing in my head.

Fitness Goals - Week 3

Last week was a tough week. Some job/budget issues caused uncomfortable stress but we are striving daily to place that in the Father's hands and not "worry about tomorrow." I also wasn't feeling normal. Casey had been under the weather all week but I thought I was doing just fine. I didn't really notice that I kept feeling a bit more tired and lethargic than normal and my motivation to workout or even do dishes kind of disappeared. I'm feeling more energetic this weekend and I honestly think my body was fighting off whatever Casey had and must have done a good job because I never got the "head cold" symptoms so I'm feeling pretty lucky!

There will be periods of life such as someone being sick (even yourself), a stressful situation, or an extra busy time where you may not fit in your regular workout or eat as healthy as you normally would. The important thing in these situations is to cut yourself some slack, remember why you are doing your workout/eating nutritiously (for yourself in the first place!), and jump right back into the game as soon as you can. Don't beat yourself up!

"Teach Them Diligently"

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall
bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."  ~ Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Okay. I know - I didn't exactly set lofty goals. BUT, the goals I set, I did accomplish. That is one small victory for me. Yay!

Weekly Fitness Goal

Are you running and hiding just from my title? Actually, I would too if it had read "Yearly Fitness Goal" or something more intimidating like that but "weekly" works for me. You see, I am a busy mom of three toddlers. They are three (3.5), two (2.5), and one (17 months). They certainly keep me on my toes.
