I Won "The Versatile Blogger" Award!

Wow! I was so surprised and honored to be nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award. A hearty thank you to Angell from Passionate and Creative Homemaking for the nomination! Angell writes about the ups and downs of homemaking with a "keeping it real" attitude. Be sure to check out her archives that include useful information such as which blogs host link-up parties (including her link party every Thursday) and when they are held, supportive and helpful homemaking blogs, and blogs on frugality.

The Versatile Blogger Award  is a way to support and promote fellow bloggers. Further down in this post I will share 15 blogs I enjoy and you can go check out their awesome contributions to the blogging world!

Here are the rules for the award:
  1. Nominate 15 fellow bloggers for The Versatile Blogger Award.
  2. In the same post, add The Versatile Blogger Award.
  3. In the same post, thank the blogger that nominated you and link back to their blog.
  4. In the same post, share 7 completely random pieces of information about yourself.
  5. In the same post, include this set of rules.
  6. Inform each nominated blogger of their nomination by posting a comment on each of their blogs.

Here are my 15 blogger nominations:
1) Ashley @ The Christian Wife Life
Read about her journey as a new Christian and newlywed wife. She's fun, peppy, and sporty and from North Carolina (my home state!).

2) Alicia @ At Least The Ceiling's Clean...
Here you will meet a friendly mom and wife who enjoys sharing vegetarian recipes, sewing projects, and other topics inspired from her natural lifestyle.

3) Stephanie @ Bakinghomesteader
I read Stephanie's blog because she truly inspires me. She shares about being a godly and feminine wife and mom, gluten free recipes, and about how God is her strength as she lives with Myasthenia Gravis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Fibromylagia.

4) Marcie @ Don't Waste Your Homemaking
At Don't Waste Your Homemaking you will find a variety of homemaking topics with an emphasis to enjoy homemaking and to consider homemaking as a way to glorify God.

5) Amy @ Wife Hat, Mom Hat
As she puts it "the many hats of a modern mom," Amy writes (and shares lots of pictures) about her family life as a stay-at-home-mom of two kids while studying full-time for her MA degree.

6) Kendal @ The Father Knows Best
Kendal is the mom of four children and writes about her strong convictions on the Biblical roles of women. I appreciate her encouragement and her conservative values.

7) Jessica @ Ramblings of a Wife and Mommy
I love that I found this blog and really enjoy everything that Jessica shares. She is a stay-at-home mother to her four children that are four and under. I find her positive attitude toward her family and job as a homemaker to be very encouraging.

8) Sarah @ Sidetracked Sarah
Sarah is a homeschooling mom of six children. She chats about DIY projects, frugality, cooking, organization, and motivation for making health a priority.

9) Betty @ Little Farm in the Big City
This blog shares about a homeschooling, homesteading family in an urban environment and their adventures with DIY projects, recipes, gardening, animals, and 4-H projects.

10) Elise @ The Frugal Farm Wife
I found this blog when searching for gluten free recipes but I found a lot more. Besides the recipes, I really appreciate the farm life and frugality topics she shares.

11) Rachel @ 100 Days of Gluten Free Recipes
I first found Rachel through Babycenter. I think we were both members of the June 2009 expecting group. Her daughter has Celiac Disease and their family eats gluten free. In the process of switching her family over to gluten free eating, she has developed some awesome gluten free recipes! If you are interested in gluten free cooking/baking then you will surely find a recipe on her site that will be a hit in your home.

12) Jacinda @ Growing Home
Jacinda offers a sweetly written blog that covers such topics as homemaking, recipes, homeschooling, and motherhood. Her goal is to encourage and offer vision for homemakers.

13) Chandra @ MoMoMod
This blog covers the topic of modest fashion complete with regular pictures of Chandra and her contributing writers' modest outfits for inspiration. You will also find posts on other topics that include hair care, thrift shopping, and motherhood.

14) Megan @ Homemade Ginger
At Homemade Ginger you will find lots of crafting inspiration and DIY projects. Megan also shares recipes for homemade food and cleaning products.

15) Susie @ Our Simple Farm
Susie is a talented goat milk soap-making artist. Check out her blog to read about her adventures at Shock Farm where she shares encouragement, lessons, and insightful tips to develop ways to earn money through homesteading.

7 Random Things about Me
  1. I ♥ Dr. Pepper even though I'm into organic and whole foods. I imagine one day I may feel more compelled to stop drinking it but its not today.
  2. Truly, I think I get more giddy than my kids when we visit our local children's farm. I squeal (ask Casey if you don't believe me) out loud when I see the chicks and baby goats (yes, I know they're called "kids" but I wanted to differentiate between them and all the other children running around). My heart was actually beating faster as I got to rub the adorable calf's head in the milking barn. Can you tell I'm a farm girl at heart?
  3. Two of my three labors were Pitocin induced. Yes, in my case, it really was worse than a natural labor. I still managed to keep my wish for a pain-medicine free birth both times. My third pregnancy I went into labor on my own and it was my shortest and easiest labor.
  4. I hate roaches. They rank even more despicable than spiders in my book.
  5. I really don't like cold weather. I wouldn't be offended if it never snowed in the winter time. I don't dream of a white Christmas. If my hubby got a job in southern Florida I would be ecstatic.
  6. I was born and spent most of my growing up years in the amazing state of North Carolina. I still maintain that North Carolina has the most amazing 4-H program and county/state fair system around, the most gorgeous mountain ranges, the most well rounded beach fronts (amazing weather and warm waters), and the nicest southern people you could ever wish to meet. I'm a tad biased but you get the picture. I haven't been back for a visit since I left almost 7 years ago to get married.
  7. I have lived in 7 different states which include: North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Oregon, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Missouri. There is a huge part of my heart that desires to settle down and grow roots. There is a small part of my heart that enjoys traveling, seeing new areas, meeting new people, and moving to new states. I don't enjoy packing and the stress that seems to accompany our moves. Let's see if I can rank these states in order of my personal favorites (in order of best to worst): North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, Minnesota (sorry MN but you were just way too cold for me!).
Well, its been an honor to share with you these fun and educational blogs. I hope you have fun checking them out!

♥Shari

    1. You're welcome. Its been cooling back down to a normal spring temperature lately but its been pretty nice still. Up in MN though I would have to walk to work in the early morning hours (I lived and worked on a college campus) and my mascara would freeze on my eyes...that was when it was way too cold, LOL.

  4. So cool! Thanks, Shari! I enjoyed reading the tidbits of info about you. I think you'd love California weather. I'm not one for cold weather. I went to NYC and Washington D.C. in the winter time and I was thankful when I landed back in snowless central California. Noooo way. NO SNOW FOR ME!
